The Brookfield

A couple of years ago, my sister alerted me to a dollhouse that was being thrown out. I hadn't done anything with it until a week or so ago, when I started to look at it carefully. It was assembled probably 25 years ago or more, and the glue had dried, so it was in need of repair.

For quite some time, I had been thinking of turning it into a fairytale cottage; maybe literally the Three Bears or Snow White or Hansel and Gretel. But then I remembered that I have a lot of assembled, partly assembled and unbuilt kits for windows and doors. So I'm completely remaking it.

I did some research, and it started out as the Dura-Craft Brookfield, pictured below. My first dollhuse was a DuraCraft. The company's long been out of business, but they made simple but attractive little kits. I'll post more as I go.
